I've been a customer for ~4 years now. Originally had the Blast Plus HSI promo w Digital/Streampix/Ondemand.
I've enjoyed the same channels all this time. Mainly TNT, TBS, Spike, BBCA, and Sprout. I've taken the 1 year and 2 year scheduled price hikes in stride, now settling at near $100/mo before taxes.
Suddenly, last week, I lost about 30 channels, all reported as "not authorized" on the box. Half of these are channels that qualify as "basic cable" (TBS,TNT,AMC,Spike, etc), the other half are higher, like BBCA and Sprout mentioned above.
According to CS, I am now a subscriber of Digital Economy, which does not include any of those channels. When the hell did this happen? According to CS, it has never changed, and always been that level. If that is the case, why have techs been helping me troubleshoot pixelated reception on Sprout a few months back if I am not a subscriber? When our one box puked and refused to authorize anything, and finally came back online only authorizing half the channels, did a CS rep tell me "they pushed the wrong tier to your box, let me fix it"? If I was indeed getting the wrong channels, why was this not fixed YEARS earlier when several dozen associates/techs have been poking in the account?
I've been (somewhat) happily paying this jacked up rate for years now, and Comcast decides to change the game? Hell, if you're going to dock me channels, you better dock my bill an equivalent level. I'd understand completely if we were talking about premium movie channels being promo'ed out or incorrectly billed, but we're not.
CS is still a joke, and apparently Executive Support is as well. CS cannot find where I am even an authorized user to discuss the account, and Executive Support can see it, but tells me that I'm SOL, but she'd be happy to upgrade my plan.
All I want is to keep paying what I've been, and receive the same minimum basic channels I've been receiving. Hell, this isnt even one of the scheduled yearly price hikes! I've never once called and threatened to cancel in an effort to game the promo system like many others have done. I want things to be left the hell alone! Is that so bloody hard?
Apparently, it is. I'm thinking about seeing what CenturyLink can do...
Anybody have any special routes of contact that could fix this problem without jacking up my rate even more?
