So I picked up an HD DTA from the local Comcast outlet to replace my SD model. The new one is a DC60Xu by Pace. I'm a Limited Basic subscriber.
I've got channels in HD now, but I'm not getting any 5.1 sound. There's a Dolby Digital logo on the bottom of the DTA.
My receiver doesn't do HDMI so I've got the HDMI cable going from the DTA to my TV, then an optical cable from my TV to my receiver. The TV is able to pass through 5.1 signals from other HDMI sources with no problem.
There's nothing in the menu of the DTA to change the sound output, either. Is this just a limitation of these DTAs?
Also, if I switch the HDMI resolution setting on the DTA to "auto," everything still comes across in 720p, regardless of channel. I have to set it to 1080i to get any signals in 1080i. Is this also normal?
Thanks for reading.
