On Tuesday, I found out one of our TVs wasn't picking up any stations. I'd get a "This channel should be available shortly" message on every channel. I called Comcast, and they tried sending a signal to the box, but couldn't even get a signal to it. So they scheduled a tech to come out the next day. I had to work, but my wife would be home by then.
I came home yesterday, and found out the tech had replaced the box in question, and also replaced the cable wire going from the corresponding outlet to the box. No problem there. But for some reason, he also unhooked my cable modem from the outlet that it was in, hooked up a splitter to the other outlet, and hooked the modem up to that. I was a little annoyed that he did that, and tried to hook it back up to the outlet that it was in, and found out it was no longer working. I went out to the garage, and found out that he had physically cut the wire. At this point, I was furious. I had that outlet put in so I wouldn't have all these splitters and wires running all over the living room. It took quite a bit of time and money to install it, and then some idiot destroys it in minutes.
I tried to call in and complain about it, but kept getting "please wait", "attempting to connect your call", and then finally a message saying that they couldn't connect my call, and advising me to visit their website. I tried visiting their website, but couldn't find any sort of contact email. I tried the Live Chat option, only to find that I was 91 in the queue.
I'm not sure what to do at this point. I definitely want them to know that the tech damaged my outlet like that, without even telling me he was going to do that. I suppose I could try to have them send someone out to fix what the other idiot destroyed, but I'm not sure I want them messing with it after what was already done. I can probably fix it myself, although it's been a long time since I attached a connector to a cable wire, and I'm going to have to look up how to do it. The really messed up part is, while I was on the phone with them, the guy kept trying to upsell me into getting more services from them. At this point, I'm not even sure if I want to keep the ones that I already have. Verizon FIOS was recently installed in my area, and their people kept bugging me to switch over to them, and I kept telling them no. After this, I'm really starting to rethink my decision.
