I did some searching here and didn't find any traffic on this subject so I thought I'd ask the collective brain what you all think....
As part of the proposed Comcast / Time Warner merger, Comcast is proposing spinning off nearly all of its Michigan operations to a new company.
Two days ago, in an effort to beat down our cable bill, we signed a two year contract for what I consider to be an acceptable monthly rate. However, the very next day a WOW rep rang the bell and we had a very long chat about WOW vs. Comcast including a bunch of high pressure talk about how Comcast was leaving and our cable service would go into the toilet.
While I don't completely believe him, it seems that SOMETHING may happen in the next six months to a year and therefore this is NOT a good time to sign a two year contract with what may end up being an unknown entity with an unknown level of customer service. I am considering backing out of the contract on Monday since we have 30 days to do so.
What is the collective wisdom here? I can't find any up to date information on the status of the merger and/or spinoff of Michigan customers.
