I may be the last person on earth, but I am finally investing in a high definition (1080p) television. I am thoroughly confused about what I need to do next however. After scouring the Comcast web site, I am now frustrated as well. Below are my primary questions:
1. Do I need to upgrade my service to HD?
2. If so, will that require purchasing or leasing new equipment?
3. If necessary, how much will that cost (both up front and ongoing)?
4. Is it possible to use the existing box?
5. If so, will I need a converter to plug into the TV HDMI input?
6. What is the disadvantage of doing this, if any?
7. Are there other vendors that I should consider before upgrading my Comcast account?
I believe that I currently have this package:
"Blast Plus Includes Blast! Internet and Digital Economy Service with Digital Converter and StreamPix." I have two cable boxes and a leased internet modem. My internet speed is advertised as 50Mbps.
I would greatly appreciate any unbiased advice that you might be able to offer. I apologize for the lengthy post but I wanted to cover everything I could think of up front.
