[Install] Self Install Questions for New Customer (Currently DirecTV)

I have a few questions. I see on Comcast's website that they have self install kits. The problem is the closest install date is not until next Friday and we currently are fed up with DirecTV and the satellite will be out until Friday (currently no video so not sure if it is the LNB, cabling, or the SWM in the attic). The connections have been checked and are not loose. If we could get Comcast out here before then, we would switch. The problem is the next available install appointment online is Friday morning (see question 4 below). Here is our current set up: CenturyLink for phone Comcast for HSI DirecTV with 3 boxes and multi switch in attic My questions: 1) Would the self install option work due to the DirecTV switch in the attic? We currently have 3 outlets that are using a DirecTV box in each room so we would need 3 boxes. 2) Would our phone work if it currently on our local telco (CenturyLink)? Or would they need to go out to our box on the side of the house and switch the landline to Comcast? 3) Since we currently have DirecTV for our TV and CenturyLink for our phone, would it be better to have a tech come out and set everything up? 4) Has anyone had any luck getting earlier install appointments that what is available online (the earliest online is next Friday morning)? Would calling get us better luck or would the day and times be the same as what's available online? Thanks in advance.
