Recently a tech came over to fix a signal loss issue. He installed what looks to be a 4-way splitter with 7db ends at the connection near the modem, saying that it's to 'stablize' our signals. He also noticed that we have a TV package but we were never given a cable tv box and handed us a new self-install kit. It was news to us. Currently, we just have the internet plugged in and now have to decided to run a second line from the outside.
My question is, is it alright if I ran another RG6 line into the house from the box outside through a 2-way splitter? Instead of the 4-way splitter, I'll be using a 2-way with 3db ends and I'll attach it right after the grounding block Comcast has installed. Or should it still be a 7db splitter?
If it affects the internet signals too much, we most likely won't bother with cable TV.
These are my signals with the 4-way splitter after 6 days of uptime: http://i.imgur.com/pyPwqtQ.jpg
