Excuse me if I'm posting to the wrong area. I've searched the forums here and don't see discussion about the topic yet, so here's my first post...
My mom wants to hook up two orphaned TVs back into service. (We had a tech fix connection problems with OnDemand, but one of our ports [and the connected TV] had to be sacrificed to maintain power to the five other ports that we have left in the house.) I bought internet service from Comcast, which has run reasonably well to-date(:o), but has required us to disconnect another TV.
So I'm reading up on how to stream data from Comcast's X1 service (and from anywhere on the 'net) to the TVs that she wants hooked up, and I'm seeing references to "DLNA" and "Visipath". Reading further, this would present the perfect solution to what my mom wants...except that a consumer Visipath device doesn't appear to be available in the United States yet, and I can't find a TV or dongle manufacturer that is telling anyone publicly about their attempts to comply with the Visipath standard. Various reports state that devices would be available by the end of 2015, and we're beyond that.
Is anyone using Visipath-compliant equipment to broadcast cable content to the other TVs in your house? If not, has anyone successfully used a DLNA device with Comcast's X1 web site to get a similar set-up?
