So we had X1 installed a year ago and since then there have been new models of the receivers.
Today in assisting with a failed HD X1 Receiver, the technician replaced the HD X1 Receiver (SM SR150BNMD) with a super small receiver. The model is "PC PXD01ANI". This receiver has new capabilities like pausing live TV. It's also really damn fast compared to the laggy other one.
He told me to contact Comcast and ask them to upgrade the other HD Receiver in the house to this new one aswell to gain the same new benefits, our DVR was fine since it was the latest they provide (PC PX013ANM) (according to him).
I went ahead and contacted live support and after a significant amount of back and forth chatting involving serial numbers, the support agent told me that the receiver he installed today was incapable of HD channels and was a mistake on the techs part. He said he would be able to ship out two of the latest HD Receivers for me to replace both receivers in my house and send the old ones back.
What's up with that? Is the "PC PXD01ANI" not the proper newest HD Receiver? We're paying for an HD DVR and two HD Receivers.
I have no idea what boxes he's sending me, but hopefully I didn't just mess everything up by opting to replace both of them - even the new one installed today.
Any feedback from anyone? All I want is the latest boxes so I can properly enjoy X1 but it's becoming quite the hassle since I don't know if the tech is correct or the support agent is correct. I guess i'll see what boxes I receive in the mail in a few days.
