Had some weird issues the past two days. Calling Comcast just says there is an 'outage' in the area.
Basically, even though my signal strength (from modem and DTA diags) doesn't change, the SNR would drop. The modem seemed to drop about 1-2 dB, but the DTA was dropping 8-10dB, to the point of pixelation. A few times, I lost both modem and TV, although there was still signal strength. Given that Comcast has 'outage' for both TV and Internet, with a fixed time constantly moving ahead, I think it's a bit widespread.
At the moment, it's back to normal, and possibly the same since the last loss that ended about 9:30PM CT. SNR on DTA showing about 38-40dB on most channels, modem in the mid 37's (was mid 38's before.) It did trigger that silly 'blinking US light' bug on my Zoom modem.
I'm wondering what could cause it. Is it just some wideband noise getting in, or something like weak modulation since the signal strength doesn't change.
