I tried plodding through CC/XFinity website, and on-line chat, to see about upgrading/transferring an account to another structure on the same property. It's impossible. We currently have one STB and an internet modem, with the very basic package for each. These two feeds run from the CC box on a power pole right next to the mobile home, to inside. I want to have the service transferred/upgraded to a new mobile home that will sit where the current one is. This mobile home will have NO outlets.
Back in the day, I could do all this myself in about 2 hours, but those days are long gone.
We're going to want CC to run single feeds from the Comcast box on the pole (NO splitters), to 6 different locations throughout the mobile home, one feed being for the internet modem. Will there be an install fee for each run? We're initially going to only want one STB and the cable modem. Will they install the 6 outlets if I'm only getting one STB and the internet modem-taking up just 2 of the 6 outlets? When this place is a permanent home, we'll have a STB on each outlet.
The install crew from the current install would probably not have a problem doing it while they did the RG6, but I'd like to run a couple of Cat6E-we'd provide the wire, runs under the trailer. Does CC officially do this? We'd pay for it.
