[Cust Svc] Some tech's just arn't too sharp.

Had a a problem with loosing many of the HD channels whenever it would rain and a day or so after. So I called Comcast for a service visit. I told the tech that I suspected a cable problem since it was related to rain. Tech measured signal on the DOCSIS signal only and determined that The STB was bad. I told him it's not the STB, and that while I do want to change the STB I don't want to do that now as the DVR has a bunch of stuff I still want to see. I tried to explain comb filtering effects that can occur with water intrusion, and even asked that he check the signal on one of the non receivable channels. Nope the DOCSIS was good so the cable was good. He also made the error of saying well if you know so much about it why didn't you fix it? Shortly after he left with conditions being worse after he removed a no longer used second tap. Bottom line after running a new temp cable to the pole reception is perfect again. I will call them back and have them replace the feed cable once I'm ready to replace the STB. Still don't they teach their techs that everything isn't on the same frequency as the DOCSIS, and that when you have a cable fault it may (and most likely will not) not effect all frequencies equally?
