Just had an odd problem with my XG1v3 X1 DVR. Since mine is the now older v3 model I still have the video outputs. I use them at this time to connect the video signal to a DVD recorder to record a few shows. At this time I do not have a updated Audio/Video Receiver with multiple HDMI outputs so I have to use the older methods to connect.
Anyway "today" for some reason when connecting to the DVD recorder I was only getting a black and white picture. Last night all was working fine. I tried a recording today not being sure whether it was simply an output signal issue from the DVD recorder or an input issue from the XG1. I made a test recording today and sure enough it only recorded in black and white. So here I go swapping cables, jack positions, etc trying to determine what the issue might be. Turns out it was the AV output of the XG1 itself.
With all the recent discussion of the XG1 v4 I was becoming worried I might not be able to get hold of a replacement v3 to continue using the AV output jacks of the v3. So I attempted a "Refresh" signal on the XG1. Luckily that fixed the black and white output issue. For now! Knock on Wood.
Guess it's time to get a new AV Receiver with all the HDMI switches. Soon anyway!
