I use the the Xfinity Stream app quite a bit but there seems to be a problem with it when it comes to using your cell data. In the settings there is one that says "Use cellular data" which is off by default. To use the app when you are not on WiFi this must be enabled however, if it is left on and you connect to WiFi, it will still use your cellular data while you are connected to WiFi unless you manually turn it off.
I got the pleasure of finding this out by a sharp increase in my cellular data usage with the data usage on my phone naming this app as the one using all that data. I went from an average of 13 to 15gb a month to using 18gb in one week thanks to this app. Luckily I am on unlimited data and it was the last week of my data cycle when I found this out.
One would think (like all other apps) that it would use the WiFi when connected but nope, it continues to use the cellular data if the option is left on. It seems with every update they make to it, the app just keeps getting worse.
Anyone else having this problem as well?
