It seems we all go down the road of should I cancel Xfinity TV and go with a Streaming provider such as Sling, Youtube, PS Vue, Hulu, DirecTV Now, ect. Do you think people would go that route if Xfinity stopped charging a monthly fee for cable boxes?
I have 4 TVs, really I could have 5. I would only pay for 4 TV boxes. These would be $30 per month on top of the TV bill. They give you one free, but I think it may be included with the whole house DVR cost.
You look at streaming and yes there are some good options. You would want decent internet. So you are going to pay for at least 60Mb, or 100Mb. Then you have to rent a modem, or buy it. You end up hitting the $70 mark for internet and you have to worry about going over 1TB, if you were streaming 24/7 on 4 TVs. Then if you add the internet price to your streaming TV price you are basically saving $50 or so.
It seems streaming is good for those who occasionally watch TV and mostly enjoy Hulu, or Netflix. Sometimes you just want a TV on for noise, or on auto pilot.
