Hi, new Xfinity customer, and this is a pretty rough ride. I have a "different" installation, and that might be an issue. Xfinity cable from the pole to our house is 150'. Inside the house we use the supplied splitter send one leg to the Gateway via a 6" cable, the other goes through 150' of quad-shield RG6 (continuity verified) to the Cable box or the Cable Card in a TiVo. Neither the box or card works. The box just "apologizes" and ask to call a phone number. The cable card says "no channels found". My support call to Xfinity was about the cable card first because it's all I really want to use. They reset it, communicated with it, and we power-cycled a bunch of times, still no channels. I tried the box on my own, but haven't called in about it yet.
Any thoughts?
Edit: More info: At the gateway, downstream lock to 5 channels, between 0.6dBmv and 1dBmv. Upstream locked to 4 channels, 46-50dBmv. We split just ahead of that gateway and run another 150' of RG6, and nothing works at the end of that. It seems that the RG6 would attenuate the signal close to 8dB. Would that be out of range for the box and card?
Issue #2, I got Xfinity Voice for two home lines. Both work ok, and as of today, voicmail was enabled. How do I set the number of rings before forwarding to voicemail? Can't find that anywhere, pretty standard old feature though.
Thanks, all!
