Having trouble getting this to work right when using RF-IR

Question: Where in the face of the box is the IR receiver?
Also, when using the RF - IR for Favorites, the channel numbers do no show up correctly, reliably. The numbers sometimes repeat 2x. e.g:
Macro: 8, .02 delay, 4, .02 delay, 2, .02 delay, select
What will display may be 884422 when using RF-IR, but if I open the door and just count on IR, it work fine.
any ideas?
