I have a question for anyone with a Comcast DVR who is using the coax out port to another DVR or to your TV - I was finally able to get Comcast to add TV to my package, and was assured that I would be able to hook up my HDHomeRun to the coax out on the "HD DVR". The person I was speaking to didn't seem to have a very deep technical understanding of how the DVR works, but I was able to gather that the channels are encrypted, so I wouldn't be able to hook up my HDHomeRun directly to the coax line from the wall.
Has anyone used the HD DVR in a similar manner? My main concern is that maybe the HD DVR only passes through 1 channel at a time and requires switching channels using the HD DVR remote instead of being able to change channels on the downstream device (TV or in my case HDHomeRun), which would be problematic since my HDHomeRun can record multiple channels simultaneously, and the main reason I upgraded to get TV was because it was a couple bucks more and mainly so I can record lots of live TV to bulk up my collection.
Any insight would be great!
