I have had "limited basic" for years dating back to analog TVs. With the "digital migration" I aquired three DTAs to be used for two analog TVs and an analog VCR. I installed one DTA on a TV and one DTA on the VCR. I replaced the second TV with a digital model and used QAM to view the HD signal.
With the recent encoding change I took my unused third free DTA back to Comcast and swapped for an HD model. BUT I only get 4:3 middle section of the HD image with black bars on the ends. The Comcast chat rep said this was normal. Is it?
How should I go about getting a full HD image at the lowest cost?
