Today Comcast came to replace a set top box that was acting up. Immediately when the techs pulled up they were looking at our drop then they came in. They agreed the box was bad and said they could swap it out with a standard box which was fine.
After they went back outside to get the new box one tech got a ladder, climbed to the top of our house, and started drilling. I asked what the reason was and a tech said that the line cannot be attached to pole (don't know the name) where the power comes in. I think I understand why but I am not sure why the countless other techs we've had in the past never fixed this. The drop was put in mid-2008. Has anyone ever heard of this before?
