I'm probably going to make the decision to switch to Comcast from FIOS for some period of time (saving $1500 the first year) and I have a few questions. Apparently the new X1 DVRs are not available in my area, so I am going to get two standard DVRs. The guy that is selling me this package (not a Comcast employee) tells me the DVRs have a 90 hour HD recording capacity. Is this true? Can I add an external eSATA HD like I am doing with the Verizon DVR? I did not feel confident that the guy selling the package solidly knew the answer to these questions. Maybe there is no solid answer until I know the model DVRs they are going to stick me with, but it would be nice to know the most likely scenario. I have to give Comcast credit. They must want my business. I am going to save a lot of money. A year from now, I will see how much Verizon wants my business back again. That seems like the only way you can get decent pricing from these guys. There is zero loyalty for existing customers. Back at them. Thanks for any help with this you can provide.
