Contacted the Comcast/Xfinity retention department bright and early when they opened (8am EST) to see about the possibility of getting a slightly lower bill as I just came off a 12-month promotion. Over the years, my experience with that has been - well - unsuitable to type. In short, the 'specials' never materialized which resulted in a gazillion or so more calls.
Shock, oh shock: nice agent who spoke clearly and enunciated. Other than trying to upsell me on their phone or home security, he listened and got me a slight 'loyalty' discount for 6 months. As it turned out, I was waiting to hear from one of their ESL folks about something else so I was ALSO able to verify that yes -- my little discount DID go through.
Glad to be able to report something good about a telephone interaction with Comcast for once.
