My understanding on the Comcast remotes is they are hard coded and can't be updated. Is that right?
I bought a new audio receiver, a Yamaha RX-V375 and can't get the Comcast remote to control it.
Have tried the manufacturer's codes in the book and several I found on the internet and nothing works.
Went through the 990 and 991 procedures and no joy there.
I called Yamaha support and the tech told me the unit works off 38kHz IFR and Comcast has to setup the codes to get that in their remotes. Yamaha has nothing to do with it.
I called Comcast support and got some women across the pond who could barley speak English and didn't even seem to understand what remote codes were. Needless to say she was zero help.
Would really like to have one less remote if possible. The "all on" button is something I used all the time.
Would appreciate it if anyone has some info on the coding of these remotes.
