Wondering if anyone else, especially in the Royal Oak (MI) system is having this issue. Today I noticed that somewhere between 5 and 10 BASIC CABLE channels are missing on BOTH of my DTAs.... AND on my Tivo (with cable card). The DTAs pop up the channel number and the three letter channel acronym but the screen is blank. The Tivo says the channel is not subscribed.
I called the Comcast support number and they were 100% clueless. Best they could offer was replace the DTAs (did it, didn't help) and send a technician. I have a tech scheduled, but I can't imagine what a technician can do here..... all other channels work perfectly.
At no time were they willing to explore the possibility that the Comcast system is screwed up. In fact, they didn't even seem to think that was possible.
After I gave up on the phone support, I went into the local Comcast store. They tried to be helpful but they claim they have NO additional assets to call on.... they call the same 800 number that I do. And I'm here to tell you that the 800 number has takes a SERIOUS turn for the worst lately. Where I used to be able to reach someone who knew the system is I asked to be escalated, that doesn't seem to be an option any more. EVERYONE I spoke with had no specific information about how channels might get de-authorized and ALL seemed to be reading from scripts.
I'm typing this while on hold for the retention department, but I don't think they have any clout any more either.
Oh, and I thought the channel lineup was wrong too, but that was because the Comcast store gave me a lineup for the wrong system!
So...... anyone else notice missing channels?
