Hey guys, I tend to read this site quite a bit for a whole variety of reasons, but I figured now I'd finally pose a question.
I'll be moving into a new apartment in NNJ in the coming months and the building requires comcast (I guess they have a deal or something?). This means I'll have to give up my fios - which I happen to love.
I currently have a 50mb up/50mb down. HD Extreme (hbo, showtime, other random channels I never watch) and phone. All of this is with my fios. I pay about $140 a month.
I was curious what kind of deals some of you may have gotten or what I should be looking for. What the hell is the x1 platform? Is it really worth it? I already have a roku 3 and a googletv...I don't think my tv needs to really be any "smarter" haha.
I'm really just looking for internet/tv - but it seems they really want to sucker you into phone by offering a much better deal if you go triple play.
What I want - 1 HD DVR, 1 HD Box, 25mb internet, I think the 220+ channel package (I watch things like the science channel and YES and some other things that I don't believe I saw listed in the 140+). I'd ideally like to pay less than what I pay now ($140), especially being a new customer.
I saw by being a new customer and getting this, I'd be paying almost what I do for my existing fios account AND i'd be settling for slower internet and no HBO or Showtime.
Thanks!
