So our old tube/crt tv finally gave up the ghost the other day and so we finally bought our first flat screen tv, Samsung 39" LED. It's for our bedroom, and it's hooked up currently to a crappy old DTA. The picture looks horrible, as I expected, sd > hdtv = crap. Is getting HD an easy process? Is it just a simple matter of calling/chatting to request 1 HD box, which would add roughly $10 to our monthly bill, and then physically swapping out the dta for the HD box? If we get fine reception with our current setup, e.g., splitters, signal...etc, everything should be good to go once the HD box is hooked up? Also, we'd be keeping our digital/on demand motorola set top box for the tv downstairs, as that's still an old crt/tube tv.
Also, what do the current HD boxes look like that they'd most likely send? Are they on the small side? It'd have to go on top of my dresser with the tv, and alongside our blu-ray player we bought today. Hoping it'd fit there. Just not sure how they are size wise. Do I have a choice on model so I could pick a smaller size?
