I am basically being forced into getting the X1 service, as I am on a triple play (the premier) but the promo price has expired and the cost jumped up around $50 a month. I called on and talked to a rep that told me the only way I could get onto another promo plan would be to get the X1 service. Right now I just use a cable card with my own TiVo on our only TV. As far as the X1 DVR goes, I am told that my area has the cloud and that gives me a total of 500GB storage. My question is about he tuners. I am told there are 5. 4 can record and 1 to watch. My question is about the 1 that is for watching TV. Does this have a buffer? That is, can you pause and such with this tuner if all 4 of the others are recording shows? Or does this tuner strictly allow for watching live TV only? Also, how much buffering does the X1 do? I think the TiVo is 30 minutes. Thanks for the help.
