[Comcast Equip] DCT-700 problems after power outage

One of my two STBs is the DCT700. The connection is just coax to the box and to my TV. Lately after power outages (we've had 3 in four weeks lasting anywhere from 45 minutes to 5 hours), that box has issues. PROBLEM: after power is restored, the box works fine ... for just that time. The SECOND time I turn on the TV, lots of issues. Either there is no audio on ANY channel, or trying to change channels doesn't work. Invariably on that SECOND attempt after the outage, the amber light goes on/off a good 12-20 times with no TV reception. I've found unplugging the unit and waiting 30 seconds kinda/sorta fixes it ... eventually. The amber light flicks on/off a lot but DOES get it to work. Really don't want to replace the box. When a tech was out about 4 months ago, he replaced one box but said that one was fine. Any ideas of how to resolve this, please ? I'm curious why everything works right after the outage but not on the second use of the TV. Thanks very much. -- RIP, "Daphne": 3/12/05 - 6/19/12.
