I love Monday.
I have an older house. Five bedrooms, den and kitchen were all wired for cable TV. I have three active connections. If I need a TV in one of the other rooms, I move an existing TV.
Back in November, I had a signal issue. Several tech calls were required to fix it. In the end, a new amp, splitter and pole drop were installed. But while working on it, the last tech asked me which rooms were active. So I told him: the master bedroom, kitchen and den. He said those were the rooms he would hook up to the outside amp. I assumed he would just roll up the old cable where I could get to it later.
Wrong. He cut them all off. At the wall. And in my house, I had put a HUGE amount of time and effort into hiding the cables inside the walls.
So we come forward to today. My elderly mother will be living with me temporarily due to a health crisis. I tried to move a TV and box into her guest room and... guess what?... the wire had been cut.
So I called Comcast, and after 30 minutes of speaking to a tech in India who was barely understandable, I was told they would come fix the issue on April 10. In two weeks. And he couldn't understand what I was saying about the wires being built into the walls.
I wish Comcast had competition.
