Comcast launches YouTube 4K on X1 platform

So, X1 subscribers will be able to enjoy higher resolution content from YouTube, but only if they have a compatible XG1v4 or Xi6 TV Box with a compatible 4K TV.
With those hardware components in place, though, X1 subscribers can access the content by using the “4K videos on YouTube” voice command. That search could catch on quickly, as Comcast points out that “YouTube” is already one of the most popular voice commands on its platform.
YouTube 4K is just the latest 4K content integration for the X1. The platform also supports 4K content from Amazon Prime Video and Netflix—those services also support HDR on X1 while YouTube does not. The X1 also hosted 4K content related to the 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2018 World Cup soccer tournament.
The 4K update for X1 comes in the same month that Comcast finally made good on its word to launch Amazon Prime Video nationwide on the X1, approximately four months after it first announced the integration. ...
