I'm thinking about moving from DirecTV to Comcast Cable. I'd like to use MythTV with a HDHomeRun Prime and CableCard so I can do my own PVR. Before actually purchasing a HDHomeRun box and finding a cablecard, I would like to know which channels are "Copy Freely".
Does Comcast publish a list of this online? How can I figure out which ones are "copy once" and which channels are "copy freely"? From what I can gather online, it's a guess and depends on the market. I just don't want to drop the money for one of these boxes and figure out it's not going to do what I want because of a flag Comcast sets for my area.

[Bill] moving fees and installation fees
I just moved to a new address and Comcast told me there hasn't been service here in almost 7 years. After I hooked up my modem and got no signal they told me there's most likely a tap on the line blocking any signal trying to get through.
I can do inside the house cable work myself, all Comcast got to do is the work on the pole. They want to charge me $80.81 for installation and $30 reconnection fee. I want to know if there's anyway to get around these fees? Either by creating a new Comcast account or something

[Comcast Equip] Standard Definition (SD)-DTA & 16:9 TVs
Hello:
I am curious to know if the standard definition (SD) DTAs can output a 16:9 signal to newer HD TVs. Currently, I have an SD-DTA and an older 4:3 TV, which I know works. However, if I get a new HD TV, with a 16:9 screen, will my SD-DTA adjust the image to fill the 16:9 screen, itself OR will I have to use my HD TVs picture options, to change the projected image? [Install] Should I keep the comcast pedestals clear of Snow
The Comcast/Verizon pedestals were buried in about three feet of snow from the last several storms so I cleared them out with the snowblower. Is this necessary. Or should I only clear them out if I'm expecting a technician.

HD-DTAs & Two Simultaneous Connections (RF/Coax & HDMI)
When using an HD-DTA, is it possible to have a signal come out of both the RF/coax connection and the HDMI connection, at the same time? I would like to send the RF/coax connection to a VCR, while connecting the HDMI connection to my new HD TV. I would like to do this, without the use of a splitter, if that is possible. Thank you for any confirmation you may be able to provide.

I keep getting an error everytime I turn on my TV it shows something that we are not able to display video hdcp etc... which is nonsense why do I have to wait 2 minutes for my tv to show video ?
I formerly had optimum and never had this issue

[X1-X2] X1 DVR problems - recorded programs do not show..
I have a problem with my X1 DVR.
Every so often a few programs will not record, typically after 11:00pm.
Or so I thought.
At one point I saw the recording on my bedroom system, but not on the living room (main box) system. If I start playing on the bedroom box system it would show up on the other devices listing.
I found that sometimes, when some recorded programs were missing from the list, I would restart the boxes and they appear on the list after the boot.
This morning I noticed that 3 programs were missing, so I restarted both system but the programs were still not showing.
I used my tablet's browser to log on to the DVR Manager (http://xfinitytv.comcast.net/mytv/dvr) and to my surprise I see that the recorded programs were showing on the manager's list.
I used the DVR manager to play one of those programs on my bedroom box and it started playing, but there was no way to control the playback, it was just playing. I tried to use the remote and the box did not respond. after a minute of playing the screen went black and the box was unresponsive. I had to unplug it from the power to restart it. And even after all this, the programs still do not show on the list on either box.
Any idea what is going on?

[Cust Svc] Hard Comcast pull (former customer)
I discontinued Comcast services in August of 2013. Paid in full, no issues with late equipment, nada. Went OTA. (And then subsequently moved to a non Comcast area.)
Was making sure everything was in order on my credit for doing mortgage stuff, and noticed that in March of 2014, Comcast did a hard pull on my credit report. Called them, and they couldn't make heads or tails on how they did a hard pull if I hadn't had service with them and how everything was in taken care of in August of 2013 (all equipment returned, etc.). There's no outstanding anything under my name, no service under my name, etc.
Have an open ticket with them to see if they can delete the hard pull. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

[X1-X2] Missing recordings
For the last couple of weeks I've had the following intermittent problem.
Random recordings I've scheduled will not show up in the saved recordings list. Rebooting the box fixes the problem and returns the missing recordings to the list. I've encountered the issue with both series and manual recordings.
Anyone else notice this problem?
It might be the same issue Lordie is having.
Tier 2 is supposed to call me back tomorrow.

[X1-X2] More X1 Issues
Don't know if it is just us but X1 seems to be getting worse. We have had to reboot it almost every night now because it either does not connect to the X1 platform or on demand programs do not load.
I first called on Wednesday I think. The rep refreshed it remotely and put a ticket in. After I got off the phone there was no more audio. I called again and amazingly got the same rep. She restarted the entire box which fixed the audio problem.
Last night an on demand program wouldn't load. At first I thought the box died because when I unplugged it and plugged it back in the screen eventually went black. I called and found out it was in standby mode. I explained to the rep how we keep having issues with it. He said the ticket is still open. He also suggested looking at the signal levels under Comcast Labs, but, surprise! That feature does not appear to work. I am sorry but from our recent experience the X1 platform is a disaster.
Does it sound like a bad box or signal issues? It almost feels like it loses sync somehow so we have to constantly reboot it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

[X1-X2] Cloud DVR Weirdness
So I just activated the cloud DVR service a few days ago and so far everything seems to be working as it should. However today, two programs recorded and are only available on the cloud dvr (via mobile app or PC); nothing shows up on the actual DVR itself. I rebooted the DVR to see if it would sync, but nothing. Anybody have this issue?

[Content] Comcast of Central NJ Middlesex to add KVNV 3 MeTV on July 31st
The cross country move of KVNV from Ely, NV to Middletown,NJ/New York has not yet been made as far as I know, but according to Comcast of Central New Jersey's (Middlesex County) June bill we now have launch date likely for all Comcast systems in the New York DMA.
Basic; TBS ch 21 will move from Limited Basic to Expanded
Basic; Community Access will move from ch 3 to ch 26; and
TVGN SS ch 26 will no longer be available. Effective July 31,
2014 KVNV SD and HD will be added to ch 3 and ch 803
respectively.
Effective 7/16/14, access to FearNet On Demand via channel
166 will be discontinued.
It should be also noted that Comcast of Central New Jersey in Mercer County (and other Comcast systems in the Philadephia DMA) added KVNV's Wilmington,DE/Philadephia(Via Jackson, WY) sister station KJWP on channels 2 SD and 788 in HD back on February, 27th but did not give it the prime 802 position in HD as they are now aperently giving KVNV 803 in HD in the New York DMA.

[Comcast Equip] Motorola DVR Closed Captioning remote button?
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way that I could program a button on my comcast remote to toggle closed captioning on or off for my dvr? Currently I have to hit the menu button twice, select setup, then the closed captioning setup menu option.

[Comcast Equip] Will there ever be one comcast ?
In NJ we have 3 comcasts maybe more, But if i visit an office 1 mile from work. There boxes don't work on my system in Hillsborough. The same goes for Comcast of Mercer. Why cant comcast get its act together and have one unified system ? Never mind channel numbers that is also to great a task for them .

[X1-X2] Xi3 HD boxes
Are people with X1 service getting these Xi3 HD boxes yet? My service was installed about a month ago here in NorthernVA.
They installed the following boxes:
DVR:PX013ANM
HDBox:PR150BNM
The PR150BNM is acting up and very slow to react and I'm wondering if take it to the local comcast store to exchange, would they just give me another one? or can I request the Xi3 if they have available? what are other options?
